Saw this little video today: https://www.facebook.com/theguardian/videos/10156799504366323/
and was thinking that pets have always been at the side of leaders. Not only as a sign of dominance or power, but also as a side of compassion and empathy.
All depends how the culture and people view the dog through the leader or vice versa. SOOOOO thinking of placing a pet in my series, one area that I have not included , that is a pet that lives in a house etc and not a working animal. That is one area that should be obvious to include.
Thus thinking of creating an off world animal that woudl be tame, as friendly as a dog, yet give off that air of dominance or elitism one would expect to see in a power leader. Maybe one that was brought from earth and bred. Hmmmmmmm
